Travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara, then drive on past Nayapul to the upper road head. A short 1–2 hr walk takes you up to Chhomrong, the Gurung village that gateways the Sanctuary trail.
OVERNIGHT · CHHOMRONGDrop down the long stone staircase out of Chhomrong and cross the Chhomrong Khola, then climb to Sinuwa and on through bamboo and rhododendron forest to the river-side lodges at Bamboo.
OVERNIGHT · BAMBOOInto the upper Modi Khola gorge, past Dovan and Himalaya, mossy forest giving way to rock walls and the open ridge below the Sanctuary at Deurali.
OVERNIGHT · DEURALIClimb through the avalanche zone into the Sanctuary itself. Stop at Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700 m) for tea and views, then push the last ascent to Annapurna Base Camp, a 360° amphitheatre under Annapurna I, Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre.
OVERNIGHT · ANNAPURNA BASE CAMPSunrise lights up the amphitheatre, then a long descent back past MBC, Deurali and Himalaya into thicker air at Dovan in the gorge.
OVERNIGHT · DOVANOut of the gorge through bamboo forest, past Bamboo, then the steady climb up to the ridge village of Sinuwa with views back toward the Sanctuary.
OVERNIGHT · SINUWALong descent back through the Modi Khola valley to the road head, then a transfer back to Pokhara and a hot shower by the lake.
OVERNIGHT · POKHARASlow morning by Phewa Lake. Optional boating, paragliding, or a flight back to Kathmandu. We'll shape the wrap-up around your onward plans.
